INFORMATION – PLEASE READ
PARKING: There will be NO PARKING along the road to the Lodge.
Please enter to park at the pavilion as in years past.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due
to the large number of runners in this race and the narrowness of the course
along the gravel road we ask that you DO NOT run 2 or more abreast on the trail
section of this race course. Doing so
makes it hard for people to pass. Please
be considerate of your fellow runners.

NO HEADPHONES: If you choose to wear headphones in this event you will be
disqualified. You will not be listed in
race results nor will you be eligible for any awards or a refund of entry
fees. This policy makes our events safer for
EVERYONE and also meets our liability insurance requirements. Even though the USATF has rescinded their
ban (although it is still in effect for championship races) our liability
insurance requires us to continue and enforce the ban. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience
but we are doing this to ensure the safety of ALL the runners and volunteers
in our events. We appreciate your
cooperation .

ENTRY FEE: $10.00 pre-registered for 10K or 5K. $15 to run both 10K and 5K (postmarked by 8/29); $20.00 after Aug 29 and on
day of race for either or both 5K and 10K races. Fun run is $2 (to cover park
entry fees). (Entry fee includes $2.00 entrance fee to picnic area.) Call Beth Benefield at (256) 881-2642 to get entry forms by mail or
download from this site.

PACKET PICKUP: Pre-registered runners can pick up
their race packets Friday, September 4th between 10 AM and 7 PM at Fleet Feet,

COURSE: The
races will be run on paved roads and enters the woods for a short distance.
This is a beautiful rolling, shady course on top of Monte Sano Mountain. The
course is a 5K loop that is run twice for the 10K race. The course is certified

AWARDS:
Awards will be
given to the top three finishers in the following age divisions and door prizes
will be given by random drawing (must be present to win).
10K MEN & WOMEN: 0-10, 11-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39,
40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+
5K MEN & WOMEN: 0-10, 11-13, 14-16,
17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69,
70-74, 75-79, 80+
The overall male and female and masters male and female winners will be awarded
dinner for two at Outback Steakhouse. Overall winners are not eligible for age
group awards.
Ribbons
will be given to ALL finishers of the 1-mile fun run. Refreshments provided by Papa John’s Pizza,
Purity Ice Cream, Publix Supermarkets, and Coca Cola.
Please note: Due to liability insurance requirements the
following are not allowed during the race: strollers, baby joggers,
skateboards, bicycles, animals, roller blades, headphones, unauthorized
vehicles, unentered runners, etc. Your
cooperation is greatly appreciated.
