Welcome to
Eurocross! Eurocross is the perfect
combination of the athleticism and spectator attraction of steeplechase with
the challenge and varied terrain of cross-country. The 5K race will be the same as previous
years. It will involve running multiple
loops of a 1K grass and dirt course with creek crossings. The 8K race will be run on a 2K course.
The
challenge of the Eurocross lies in hurdling hay bales, sloshing through a
creek, running through a forested section and grunting up one short, but steep
hill. Aside from the obstacles, the
grass course provides a refreshing break from the road. The entire course is visible from the
spectator area, making it a crowd pleaser--so bring your fan club!
The 5K starts at 8:00
AM, and the 8K run at 9:00 AM on the UAH Campus.
From
I-565 take Sparkman Drive north to the first right. Turn onto Technology
Drive. The course is visible off to the
right. Parking is available along John
Wright Drive, east and north of WLRH studios.
Follow signs from the parking lot to course--approximately 100 yards.
Packet pick-up and
late registration will be at
on Friday, June 4
from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM or at the race
site from 7:00 to 7:45 AM Saturday June 5.
The 5K will start at 8:00 and the 8K will start at 9:00. Awards will follow the 8K at approximately
10:00 AM.
